Skipp and Richards got married in 2013. Initially, their relationship was criticized because of a vast age difference of at least 30 years between the duo.

Initially, audiences criticized Skipp and Richards' relationship because of their vast age gap. The latter was almost thirty years older than the former.

However, the duo proved them wrong by sticking together. They have been in a relationship for over two decades and are still going strong.

A relationship does not work based on age, gender, or ethicity; it works based on trust, love, loyalty, passion, and commitment.

Prior to Skipp, Michael was married to Cathleen Lyons, a family therapist. The duo tied the knot in 1974 and divorced after eighteen years in 1992.

The former pair has a daughter together named Sophia Richards. She was born in 1975 and is currently 47 years old.

Michael Richards: Career Highlights-Popular As Cosmo Kramer On Seinfeld

Michael Richards started his career as a stand-up comedian. He was featured on Billy Crystal's first cable TV special.

After that, he became a series regular on ABC's Fridays and made his path in Hollywood.

Richards appeared in many television shows and movies such as Cheers, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Problem Child, Coneheads, and Young Doctors in Love.

However, he gained national and international fame following his role as Cosmo Kramer on the television sitcom Seinfeld.

Seinfeld is an American sitcom created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld.

His Physical comedy on the show was fan-favorite. He won three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role.

Later in his interviews, Michael revealed that his extensive physical comedy on the show made him anxious, and he could not enjoy himself as an actor.

"When I was doing 'Seinfeld' I was very intense. Physical comedy takes more time to set up - rehearsing how to come through the door, that slide I did. So I was always in development, and that made me feel like I wasn't able to sit back and enjoy the ride."

After Seinfeld, he starred in his sitcom, The Michael Richards Show, but it was canceled after two months.

Richards also appeared on shows such as The Larry Sanders Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, London Suite, and Dinosaurs.

His last television role was as Frank in the sitcom Kirstie.

Why Was Michael Richards Cancelled?

Michael Richards caused colossal controversy back in November 2006. During a performance at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California, he launched many racial slurs at a small group of black audience members who were heckling and interrupting his performance.

He said inappropriate things to his Latino audiences and N-word to his African audiences.

After three days after the incident, he made a  public apology via satellite on the Late Show with David Letterman.

The actor stated:

"For me to be at a comedy club and to flip out and say this crap, I'm deeply, deeply sorry. I'm not a racist, that's what's so insane about this."

Amid huge controversy following the incident, he made an early retirement announcement from stand-up comedy in 2007.

In 2012, he opened up to his Seinfeld co-star Jerry Seinfeld about the incident in his show Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.

He revealed that the incident hunts him, and it breaks him down.

He stated:

"When I blew it in the comedy club. I lost my temper 'cause somebody interrupted my act and said some things that hurt me, and I lashed out in anger.'

The actor continued:

"It was a selfish response. I took it too personally and I should have just said: 'Yeah, you're absolutely right. I'm not funny. I think I'll go home and work on my material and I'll see you tomorrow night".

Later, in May 1997, the cast members called the makers to raise their salary to 1 million per episode or backend ownership points.

Alexander, in an interview, said:

"Julia, Michael, and I, during our big renegotiation for the final year, asked for something that I will go to my grave saying we should have had, and that is backend participation in the profits for the show. It was categorically denied to us, which forced us to then ask for ungodly salaries. We make very little, standard Screen Actors Guild residuals for the reruns."

Finally, the network decided to give them $600,000 per episode for the show's final season, which is $15 million a season, $24 million today.

As of today, Richards and the others receive royalties from when the show airs, which is in hundreds of thousands per year.

Compared to Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, the money is meager. The duo still earns at least $50 million yearly from syndication points.

Richards and Skipp own property at Pacific Palisades. On April 2021, one of their neighbors named Maxine Adams sued them for allegedly chopping down her 'mature Brazilian Pepper Trees and underbrush.

The neighbor stated that it would cost her more than $62,000 to replace the trees, which would take at least 20 years to reach the same height. She was seeking another $200,000 for her property's loss of aesthetic value'.
