Geoffrey Arend and Christina Hendricks first met in 2007 via mutual friend Vincent Kartheiser. 

While talking about their first encounter Hendricks in an interview, stated:

"Geoffrey walked in and I was like, 'Who is this guy?' He had amazing hair and was all disheveled".

"He was just charming, funny, and very magnetic. I got his number that night under the pretense of, 'We could just be friends.'

The couple started dating soon after and announced their engagement within a year in December 2008.

Later, Arend and Hendricks got married in an intimate ceremony at Il Buco restaurant in New York City in October 2009.
