Mayana Moura was diagnosed with type 1 Bipolar Disorder when she was 34. Bipolar disorder makes people behave impulsively or take unusual risks.

Moura talking about her illness stated:

"Since then, I haven't been without medication and medical follow-up. So much so that I've never had a crisis again. There's no cure for what I have, but with medication and therapy, I have a normal life. I'll have to take medication for the rest of my life. And I go to therapy twice a week. I was very happy that I was vaccinated."

She continued:

"My husband is French and I knew that in Paris psychosocial illness is a priority group. I decided to face it openly because I think I can help people. My desire is to be able to contribute so that people can be treated, take the treatments seriously, take their medication and have a normal life. It is important for people to know their rights".

Back in 2021, Mayana Moura posted on her Instagram about Covid vaccination and how the proper importance was not given to mental illness patients.

She in her interview stated:

"The City Hall of Rio announced that people with psychosocial diseases would have priority in the vaccination schedule. Among them are depression, type 1 bipolarity, which is my case, and schizophrenia. The main and most serious are these, but there are others. there, the doctor looked at my report and asked: 'are you bipolar? There are schizophrenics who come here and are not vaccinated'.

She continued:

"I was shocked! He then took my report there claiming that he needed to check it. 'you can take it'. I thought it was sad because the person who has a psychosocial illness goes through an unnecessary situation. Why did they publicize it then? Whoever has a mental illness already has a stigma.
