As reported, the duo began dating in the mid-2000s but never went public with their affair. 

The couple tied the knot in a very intimate wedding ceremony on January 13, 2014.

In less than a year since their wedding, Sonni Pacheco filed for divorce from her husband, Jeremy Renner, citing irreconcilable differences. 

In the filed document, she also demanded Renner get her passport, which she claims was stolen, as well as her birth certificate and social security card. 

The Canadian actress also stated their prenuptial agreement should be voided because it’s based on "fraud." 

They officially divorced the next year, but it was not amicable and the exes fought for everything, including child support, child custody, child pay, asset distribution, and so on. 

Later in 2019, TMZ obtained the court document filed by Pacheco where there was a full description of Renner's being physically violent to her. 

In the document, she claimed that the actor shoved a g*n in his mouth and threatened to k*ll her and then himself before firing the gun into the ceiling while their then 6-year-old daughter Ava was asleep in her bedroom. 

Pacheco also alleged that one time Renner was drunk and high on c*coine at a club when he admitted to not being able to "deal with [Sonni] anymore, and he just wanted her gone." 

On top of that, she also claimed her ex has a history of substance abuse, as well as verbal and emotional abuse, and was under the influence many times while having physical custody of their daughter.

Jeremy Renner's Response To Allegations

Renner, during his 2021 interview with Men’s Health, brushed off his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco’s allegations.

He stated: 

"I don’t respond publicly or privately to nonsense. “It only empowers it … If you respond to it, you give it gas. I don’t fuel s–t fires. I just don’t do it. I refuse to.” 

The actor has understandably not commented on anything on the matter and has always denied the claims. 

The same goes for Sonni, as she also has not publicly addressed all those abuse claims.

Daughter Ava Berlin Renner-Custody Battle And Child Support

Ava Berlin Renner is the only daughter of Sonni Pacheco and Jeremy Renner. She was born on March 28, 2013, and is nine years old. 

After the divorce, Sonni filed for full custody of her daughter, stating that she was the only available parent. 

According to the papers, she filed, the former model wrote: 

“I have been the parent that cares for Ava on a daily basis,” Pacheco claims in the papers. “[Renner] rarely spent one-on-one time with Ava and when he did it’s my recollection it was as a result of my insistence that he do so.” 

Pacheco also demanded child support, stating that Renner earned $3.4 million in 2014 and had $13 million in assets while she was unemployed with no income. 

After lots of agreements and a long process, the duo finally decided on joint legal and physical custody of their then 2-year-old daughter, Ava.

The Hurt Locker alum also agreed to pay $13,000 a month in child support. In 2014, Pacheco alleged the actor was nearly $50,000 behind on paying child support.  

Later, in 2016, Jeremy agreed to pay $16,000 for support and $24,000 to cover her legal and accounting fees. 

However, during the global pandemic, Renner submitted court documents in an effort to have his child support payments lowered, citing a lack of work. 

In response, Sonni gave an interview to Page Six, stating: 

'It is very disheartening that in a time of global crisis there is yet another attempt to reduce funds I rely on to provide for our child.' 

Further in May 2020, an American Hustle alum submit court docs stating "that Pacheco had taken funds in excess of $50,000 from their daughter's trust fund over a two-year period, and had 'used those funds for her own personal benefit ... to pay property taxes, attorney’s fees, and other expenses completely unrelated to the minor".

Again in response to the allegation, the sculpture artist Pacheco said, she was "'sick of being continually bullied, having my name slandered, and the truth muted' in the ongoing conflict. 

She continued: 

Anyone who is a parent knows that the most important thing in the world is their child’s health and safety. Over the years, it’s hard to fathom what I’ve seen and what people have told me they’ve seen in regard to Jeremy’s disturbing actions while our child is in his care.' 

The matter is still in court.
