His Mexican father, Michel Zajur, was born to a family of Lebanese-Syrian descent. He was president and CEO of the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Austin Zajur wanted to be an actor for as long as he can remember. He was living for the passion of performing and acting.

After getting his first movie, Fist Fight, one of his siblings wrote a heartwarming blog about his acting journey.

According to the blog, Austin always loved the spotlight and wanted to make and act in his movies.

He started a now-closed YouTube channel to familiarize himself with the camera. He and his friends would make silly videos.

"I think he first started nagging my mom about becoming an actor when he was 10. He wouldn't shut up about it, so my mom had no choice but to figure out how to get him an agent. We made a lot of trips up to New York to meet with various managers and agents, and eventually, he got signed with a great agency in NYC. All of that annoying persistence paid off."

Zajur, all through middle and high school, went back and forth to New York for auditions.

He did print ads, commercials, crime tv shows, and voiceovers.

It was always not easy for him; he also got several NO and rejections.

He never gave up and persisted and kept on believing in his dream. In an interview, Austin said:

"I believe true failure is when you don't try," he says. "If you try and are not successful, you can learn from your mistakes and try again." What do you really have to lose?

Finally, in 2015, he moved to NYC to officially begin his acting journey; the rest is history.

But before he moved to New York, he volunteered as a bilingual leadership coach to Latino middle school students through the Virginia Hispanic Foundation.

The foundation "supports the aspirations of Hispanic students on their journey to be productive and successful leaders in the community through education and mentorship."

Debut Movie Role In Fist Fight

Austin Zajur made his television debut in 2008 on John Adams, where he appeared for two episodes.

Later, he made an appearance in shows such as Wonder Pets!, The Six, The Carrie Diaries, Point of Honor, TURN, Delinquent.

However, all these were just minor role and definitely was not enough for him to grab public attention.

Finally, in 2017, he got an opportunity to play a role alongside stars such as Ice Cube, Charlie Day, and Tracy Morgan in the comedy film Fist Fight.

In the Warner Bros. comedy, he played the role of Neil, the prankster at the Roosevelt High School who sparks a fight between the teachers Charlie Day (Andrew Campbell) and Ice Cube (Ron Strickland).

While talking about his role, the 27-year-old said:

"My character is the ultimate class prankster. He likes to entice his teachers and principal. He helps provoke Ice Cube's insane rage at Charlie Day".

The film premiered in Los Angeles on February 13, 2017, and all over the States on February 17, 2017.

The movie mostly received negative reviews and only grossed $41 million worldwide.

Although the film could not impress an audience,

Austin Zajur's other famous role is in h=the 2019  André Øvreda's directorial horror movie Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, based on the children's book series of the same name by Alvin Schwartz.

He played the role of Charlie "Chuck" Steinberg, one of three kids (alongside Zoe Colletti as Stella Nicholls and Gabriel Rush as August "Auggie" Hilderbrandt) who plots a prank to get back at high school bully Tommy (Austin Abrams) on Halloween night but the things get out of hand.

The movie received good reviews and collected $106 million worldwide against a budget of around $28 million.
