Sang-Young Shin started performing as a drag queen in 2012 in Chicago.

Shin was first named Jizzney Princess, which later changed to Kim Chi based on a popular Korean dish and a live-action anime character.

Kim Chi was born Sang-Young Shin on August 8, 1987, in the United States. She, however, lived most of her childhood in South Korea. 

As of July 2022, she is 34 years old and stands tall at 6 ft 4+1⁄2 in or 194 cm, almost 7 feet in heels which is her trademark.

Her parents are divorced, and she is much closer to her mother. Having said that, her mom did not have any clue about her being a drag queen until she appeared on national television.

The drag queen studied graphic design in college and later worked as an art director.
