Roisin Conaty was born on 26 March 1979 in Camden, London. According to Wikipedia, her father is from Virginia, County Cavan, who worked for Aer Lingus.
While her mother is a nurse from Dromcolliher, County Limerick. Conaty's dad died at 52 because of a heart attack.
Her parents met while working in London, but both are originally from Ireland. She and her younger sister, Siobhan Conaty, spent most childhood days in Ireland in County Kerry and County Cork.
