Roisin Conaty was born on 26 March 1979 in Camden, London. According to Wikipedia, her father is from Virginia, County Cavan, who worked for Aer Lingus. 

While her mother is a nurse from Dromcolliher, County Limerick. Conaty's dad died at 52 because of a heart attack.

Her parents met while working in London, but both are originally from Ireland. She and her younger sister, Siobhan Conaty, spent most childhood days in Ireland in County Kerry and County Cork. 

"When I was about 7 or eight, my mum and dad split up, we moved to Ireland, to Tralee," said the comedian in one of her conversations.

Roisin identifies more as Irish than British, telling Irish Times: “I still identify as Irish."

“But I’m a Londoner too. It really is a great place to grow up. I grew up on a council estate and I met everyone from everywhere, and had food [from] all over the world before I was 10."

Roisin Conaty has been active in the acting industry since 2013. She played the role of Jo in the channel 4 sitcom Man Down, alongside Greg davies, from 2013 to 2017.

Similarly, the actress has appeared as Self in Taskmaster (2015) and as Marcella in GameFace (2014-2019). 

Conaty created, wrote, and starred in GameFace, which was first aired on Channel 4 on 23 April 2014. 

The story follows her role, Marcella's struggles for a good acting job and to fall in love again after breaking up with her boyfriend of 12 years.

The show received positive reviews: The Guardian said, "The English standup has created a big-hearted comedy that manages to make depression and loneliness funny."

Conaty has publicly admitted being an overeater and feeling uncomfortable with her weight at times. However, she is now in a better place.

"I'm an overeater and my weight goes up and down – I have been all the weights. I've gone up by two stone now, so I don't feel confident in my looks, but I'm smart enough not to concentrate on it because it's so trivial and we're lucky to be alive."
