Mescal Wasilewski And Wife Jodie Sweetin: First Meeting, Engagement, And Wedding

Wasilewski and Sweetin were first spotted on Sept. 19, 2017, when they appeared together at a performance of Dear Evan Hansen in New York City.

The Full House was seen getting cozy with a man, but no one knew his identity.

After a month, Sweetin revealed her new boyfriend Wasilewski's identity in a most awesome Instagram post on Valentine's Day.

She shared a photo of the duo writing a whole tribute about him and what he meant to her.

The snippet of the post read:

"Find someone who you can share this kind of love with… Someone who doesn't just show you they love you one day a year. Who isn't afraid to look silly when they tell you they love you,"

Similarly, Sweetin, on the Allison Interviews podcast in November 2021, revealed that she and Wasilewski had a long-distance relationship for the first three and a half years they dated.

While some couples broke up because of the distance, some grew stronger.

The television star admitted that the distance helped their relationship more and helped her daughters "warm up" to him.

Engagement Announcement

After more than five years of dating, Wasilewski and Sweetin got engaged on Jan. 17, 2022.

The former popped the question while on a hike, just two days before the latter's 40th birthday.

The happy, newly engaged couple shared the news via Instagram.

Sweetin flashing her engagement ring shared the photo with a caption:

"I love you, Mescal, for always. You're my person. I can't wait to see the life that lies ahead for us. Here's to us, @ghostfacelito, and our life of adventures. Together."

On the other hand, in Wasilewski's post, he wrote: "So that happened…"

The engagement, however, happened at a sad time as Sweetin's fictional dad on Full House and close friend Bob Saget died on Jan. 9, 2022.

Wasilewski was even hesitant with the proposal as she was dealing with a loss but ultimately decided to go for it.

Taking about her engagement and Saget's death, Sweetin, in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight in February 2022, said:

"We get to talk about being happy. Life is really painful, and then life all of a sudden throws you great joy, and that's sort of the adventure of this. You just have to keep and trust that even in the bad times, it will get good again. You can make it through the bad times 'cause there's something good on the other side."

Intimate Malibu Wedding

Jodie Sweetin and Mescal Wasilewski married in a private home in Malibu, California, on July 30, 2022.

The groom wore a tuxedo from Generation Tux, and the bride's dress was Lace-Up Block Heel Pumps.

Sweetin, in her interview with People, talks about her intimate wedding.

"It means a lot to the family. I wanted it very intimate and all of that. "It looks like we like pulled the furniture out of the house, and I want like, twinkle lights and ... wildflowers."
