How A Criminal Law Student Became An Actor?
Becoming an actor was never Sal Rendino's plan; in fact, he wanted to be an actor; however, destiny had different plans for him.
According to reports, he met some aspiring actors while in graduate school, which sparked his interest in theater and the acting world in general, and the rest is history.
In an interview with TV Grapevine, the actor/writer revealed his acting journey.
He stated:
"I’ve been acting since early grade school, but never thought of it as a possible career until grad school, when I met some actors who would become friends and mentors. They gave me their perspectives and introduced me to some people, got me thinking about theater and training, and I was bit by that bug."
Sal then enrolled in acting classes. He joined Bill Einsiedel to study film acting, followed by Gene Tillman to train in advanced scene study.
He also learned cold reading at Sal Landi and story study at Diana Castle for more than six years.
New York-based actor/writer Sal Rendino
In the above-mentioned interview, he also talked about his first acting gig, which he did in 1991.
"Somehow, I booked the first role I auditioned for at the end of 1991, and it was the lead in an indy feature shooting around Orlando, FL. Little did I know that two months after wrapping, I would be doing extra work to try to stay afloat — the often humbling roller coaster ride that is a life in the arts."
It has been more than two decades since his debut, and the New York-based actor has many significant, memorable, classic, and important credits leaping off his resume.
