Skylar Gaertner fell in love with the camera and acting at a very young age. He started his journey in the entertainment world at the mere age of three. 

He started appearing in commercials and made his acting debut within a year, playing a small supporting role in the pilot for Lipstick Jungle at 4.

Skylar Gaertner's undoubtedly most famous role is Jonah Byrde in the Emmy-winning series Ozark. The crime drama was created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams for Netflix. 

The show tells the story of Jason Bateman (Marty Byrde) and Laura Linney (Wendy Byrde), an unhappy married couple who, with their two kids, Sofia Hublitz as Charlotte Byrde and Gaertner as Jonah Byrde, move to the Lake of the Ozarks and become money launderers to save each other's lives. 

The first season was released on July 21, 2017, and the last season was released on April 29, 2022.

Ozark received huge acclaim from fans and critics alike—it received a total of 45 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including three for Outstanding Drama Series. 

Gaertner was only 12 when he auditioned for the show and basically spent his childhood on the set.
