How Her Ethnicity Almost Ruined Her Acting Career?

The 21-year-old, Mexican-Australian star always wanted to be an actor primarily because of her mother and her side of the family, who were obsessed with the entertainment world.

During an interview, the rising star, Inde said that she and her cousins would watch movies all the time, and she would have "the guttural sensation of 'I can do that.'"

As we all know, everyone cannot make it big in Hollywood, and it is not an easy job to succeed. Navarrette also saw her share of struggles. 

It was actually her ethnicity that made it difficult to enter the acting world. Her mom is a first-generation Australian and her dad is many generations Mexican.

"I had an unfortunate scenario where somebody wanted me to lie about my ethnicity to get a role. There's this feeling that you need to check a box in Hollywood, and it's a very uncomfortable situation to be in."

However, the 13 Reasons Why star did not let herself down and stuck to her decision.

The young star, Inde, was first noticed in the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why in its final season. 

She appeared as Estela de la Cruz, Monty's (portrayed by Timothy Granaderos) younger sister.

However, her role in the superhero drama television series Superman & Lois, starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, brought her to the limelight.

Inde portrays the role of Sarah Cushing, the love interest of Jordan Elsass as Jonathan Kent.

Another common thing between the two characters is the actor Tyler Hoechlin who was one of the leads on teen Wolf.

Her upcoming project is Kids of The Black Hole alongside Star Soderberg and Jonny Vasquez. 

The movie is a story about the three kids dealing with an aftermath of a botched robbery.
