What Is The Cause Of Andrés Balanta's Death?  

Andrés Balanta, the 22-year-old player of Atletico Tucuman, collapsed during training. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but the 40 minutes of resuscitation by the emergency personnel failed to save his life. 

He was said to have gone into cardiorespiratory arrest. It happens when the heart suddenly stops beating, and a serious attack can result in sudden cardiac death within minutes. 

As per The Sun, a club spokesman said: "We regret to inform you about the death of Andres Balanta." 

"The club’s supporters are deeply saddened today. Of course, we support his family, team-mates, and friends.” 

Also, The Colombian FA added:  

“The Colombian Football Federation regrets the death of Andres Balanta, player of the Colombia national team in its different divisions.” 

Similarly, a statement from Atletico Tucuman announcing Balanta's passing read: 

"We regret to inform you about the death of Andres Balanta. The club's supporters are deeply saddened today. Of course, we support his family, teammates, and friends."

Career Highlights 

Andrés Balanta played as a defensive midfielder and represented his country at the youth level. He represented the country at Under-17 and Under-20 levels and played at the latter level's World Cup in Indonesia in 2019. 

Defensive midfielders are midfield players who mainly focus on protecting their team's goal. 

He joined Deportivo Cali, aka Asociación Deportivo Cali, a Colombian sports club based in Cali most notable for its football team, Category Primera A. 

The club is considered one of the most successful football teams in Colombia, "having won ten domestic league championships, one Copa Colombia, and one Superliga Colombiana, for a total of twelve titles."

Balanta joined the club in 2018 and played almost 100 games before joining Atletico Tucuman on loan. 

He joined Atletico Tucuman on loan from 2022 until 2023. Atletico Tucumán, aka Club Atlético Tucumán, is an Argentinian football club based in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán in Tucumán Province.
