Puerto Rican singer, and songwriter, Ricky Martin is all over the news these days but for all the wrong reasons.

His 21-year-old nephew Dennis Yadiel Sanchez has accused the singer/actor of physical and se*ual abuse.

In the first week of July 2022, Sanchez issued a "domestic-vi*lence related" restraining order against the pop star.

If found guilty, Martin could face up to 50 years in prison due to his involvement in incest.

Who Is Dennis Yadiel Sanchez?

Dennis Yadiel Sanchez was born in 2001 and is the son of Venessa Martin, Rick Martin's stepsister.

There are almost no details of his personal and earlier life. The identity of his father is also unknown.

However, his grandfather Enrique Martín Negroni is a former psychologist. He also worked as a regional supervisor for a Puerto Rican mental-health agency.

Dennis Sanchez Accuse Uncle Ricky Martin Of S*xual Abuse And Mental Trauma

On July 1, 2022, Sanchez filed a case of domestic vi*lence against Martin on July 1, 2022, under Puerto Rico Domestic Vi*lence Law.

Although the case was filed anonymously, he was later identified by Ricky's brother Eric Martin.

Reportedly, he was afraid that his uncle might do something harmful or even life-threatening; therefore, the court served the María hitmaker with a restraining order on July 2.

Sanchez claimed that he and his uncle Martin had been dating for the past seven months, and after he broke up,  Martin didn't accept the separation.

The singer allegedly had been spotted loitering near his house at least three times.

He also accused Martin of "consuming large amounts of alc*hol and dr*gs."

Ricky Martin's Response To The Accusations

Martin, 50, denies all the claims made by his nephew.

He shared a post on Twitter on July 4, 2022, responding to the whole incident.

He wrote:

"The protection order entered against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond through the judicial process with the facts and the dignity that characterize me."

Similarly, his attorney has also released a statement claiming that the accuser is suffering from mental problems.

"Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been – and would never be – involved in any kind of se*ual or romantic relationship with his nephew."

His representative further said:

"The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts."

The court case is reportedly beginning on July 21.

If convicted, Martin could face up to 50 years in prison due to the involvement of incest, as Puerto Rican law is very strict on these matters.

Ricky Martin: Husband And Children

Amidst all the controversies, Ricky Martin's husband, Jwan Yosef, has remained mum on the whole situation.

Considering the case's seriousness, why the family has gone low-key is understandable.

Martin and Syrian-Swedish painter Jwan Yosef first met in 2016. The former is an interview that revealed that they met on Instagram, and they "were talking for like six months without hearing their voices."

The couple got engaged the same year, which the singer announced during his interview on The Ellen Show.

Later, in 2018, the Vuelve hitmaker revealed that he and Yosef secretly tied the knot.

"I'm a husband, but we're doing a heavy party in a couple of months, I'll let you know."

On December 24, 2018, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Lucia Martin-Yosef.

Their son Renn Martin-Yosef was born in 2019.

Prior, Martin became a father to twin boys named Matteo and Valentino via gestational surrogacy in August 2008.

The duo was rumored of expecting their fifth child in June 2021, but the singer shut down the rumors.

I don't hide anything nowadays. We are not pregnant,' Martin told People at the time. 'Right now, we're dealing with a pair of twins and a pair of Irish twins because Lucia and Renn are only nine months apart. And they're overwhelming, but we're strong and healthy.'

Martin's Former Manager, Rebecca Drucker, Also Sued Him

Ricky Martin has surrounded himself with legal battles. Just days before his nephew's allegation, he was sued by his former manager Rebecca Drucker for shorting her $3 million for the services she provided.

As per Drucker, she worked with the singer/actor between 2014-2018, but he has "completely and maliciously refused to pay Rebecca the millions of dollars in commissions that he owes her."

Drucker said in court docs:

She provided "'invaluable services as his manager and top advisor' in assisting Martin in deals involving recording contracts, tours, and sponsorships, assisting him in making millions via a North American tour he was on with Enrique Iglesias last year. The tour grossed $19 million.

As per the reports, she was a trial by jury and requested $3 million and punitive damages in her case against Martin.
